Everyone from our table obtained $10 each. We all decided to contribute to society individually.

With the money that I had, I went to the grocery store and bought non-perishable items and donated them to the Norcross Cooperative Ministry.

Overall, I had a great time at the singles event. I love giving back to the community because God continues to bless me.

Paying it Forward

My 16-year-old sister, who has just this year overcome osteosarcoma, which was a cancerous tumor in the bone under her knee cap, decided she wanted to do something different for Christmas this year. In her words, “Last year was such a material year for me. Because I was sick, so many people brought me presents off and on throughout the year. And don’t get me wrong, it was great! But I have more than I need now and I wanted to give my Christmas to someone in true need.” She decided to ask her mom and dad to help her sponsor a girl her age, adopted through the Christmas Angel organization at her church and use the money they would normally spend on her Christmas presents, to get some items on a list that the young teenage girl needed. She had already bought several items but was at her limit financially and needed to turn in the items the following day, Sunday, December 7th. She was disappointed because there were a few big, important items on the list that she didn’t get to purchase such as a winter coat, warm boots and warm clothes. These are the items the girl wrote down that she really needed.

I had planned on meeting up with her to just for a Sister-day-out and was she ever surprise and SOOO excited to learn that our table agreed to give her $75 for her heart in giving! With all of the incredible sales and God leading the way, we were able to get the young girl warm boots, a nice winter coat and a pair of jeans! We were almost in tears at how God works these things out so amazingly… That young girl will for sure be warm this winter, Praise God!

Senior family

We collectively donated over $200 AND all the Christmas gifts that were on their list to the Senior family that our Small Group adopted through North Fulton County Charities. They were a delightful couple, very sweet and very appreciative of our gifts.

Thanks Northpoint for giving us an opportunity to serve and thanks table 43 for being sweet, fun, generous and NOT very good at trivia so we didn’t have to get on that stage.

A Christmas Miracle

Let me just tell you what amazing people were sitting at my table! When I told them how I’d like to spend my $5, towards a child in my 5th grade class whose family is struggling, they all graciously gave over their money as well.

Isaac is a brilliant young man who’s had a very hard life. He has a condition which has required more than 30 surgeries throughout his short life. The most obvious of those is his lack of thumbs. He had several surgeries to create thumbs out of his index fingers, which sometimes makes everyday activities a bit more challenging. Due to the lagging economy, times have been excessively traumatic for his family lately. All of this has taken a huge toll on him this year.

Isaac loves to dance more than anything else. So, I thought and iPod would be the perfect gift for him. Our total winnings of $50 would have been plenty to buy one! My friend Penny, though, mentioned that she just happened to have a new iPod she didn’t need. She donated that to our gift bag, along with new headphones. I spent the winnings on a docking station so that he could charge his iPod and crank up the music when he had the urge. My daughter donated a protective cover, and my son downloaded all of his favorite music onto the iPod for Isaac. I kept him out of P..E. today for a few minutes to let him unwrap his gifts. He said it was something that he’s always wanted, but knew that his family couldn’t afford. He said that this gift was, for him, a Christmas miracle.

I will be taking my tables money ($50) to WalMart in E Cobb Sat from 10-1AM to help with Clarks Christmas Kids. I just missed them last Sat. (15 min.).

7 Bridges to Recovery

For the members at our table (41) we donated the money and then some for a total of $400 to 7 bridges of recovery homeless reach program! People just kept giving! I and several others had the opportunity to hit the south side of town and help be a part of giving out food as well as having the chance to speak and pray with men and women on the street about the Lord. Our money supplied items such as food, warm tea, coats, and bibles to people who live on the streets and under bridges in downtown Atlanta. There is a true movement of God happening down there!

As we were finishing up prayer with some people on the street at our final stop for the day, one man who had his hand on my back the entire time we were praying looked at me with the biggest smile and said, “When Jesus speaks, things change!”
I want you to know that this man said this under the worst of conditions. I will never forget this day. We truly are a blessed people with an amazing God!
Please keep Pastor 7, the Garden Center (their church), all the missionaries and members of their church, and especially all of our homeless and lost brothers and sisters in your prayers!
